Situated only six miles from the mainland, the island is easily accessible by ferry from the town of Ballycastle. The island, an area of 'outstanding natural beauty, boasts an impressive range of fauna and flora, notably it's world-renowned puffins who visit every year and can be viewed at the bird sanctuary. In order to fully enjoy these surroundings, North Coast Cottages has several well-placed properties only a short walk away from the main harbour. From here, one can easily access all the facilities the island provides, as well as allowing for peace and serenity. The Island can be best described as a retreat, allowing one to get away from it all. We feel you will be more than happy with not only our stunning five star accommodations, but also the island's natural beauty.
ARKELL COTTAGE:
Welcome to the Arkell Cottage, 2 Church Bay, Rahtlin Island. This beatifically decorated and three-bedroom cottage is located in Church Bay close to the Harbour, Children’s play park and the local shop. It is very close also to the Island’s Pub/Restaurant. In the summer months there is also a delightful chip van that sells wonderful crab burgers and other delights from the sea! Arkell cottage is the ideal location for walking the island, fishing or having a swim in the clear sea of Church Bay. This cottage was built in 2004 and is very comfortable with three bedrooms (two doubles and one twin room) separate bathroom and shower and the Master bedroom has an ensuite. The cottage is centrally heated with a superb gas fire in an antique fireplace. It’s really home from home and after an invigorating swim in Church Bay there is even an outside hot shower to warm you up. There is a delightful modern kitchen with oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine and tumble dryer. Patio furniture, barbeque and all bed linen and towels included.
TRA AISLING:
Welcome to Tra Aisling Cottage, 3 Church Bay, Rathlin Island. This beatifically decorated and furnished cottage is identical in every way to Arkell Cottage, 2 Church Bay, Rathlin Island. Just as luxurious and next door – ideal for large groups.
TEAC BRUCE:
Welcome to Teac Bruce, 6 Ballynagard Cottages, Rathlin Island. This is another well-furnished and spacious property in Church Bay just past St Thomas’s Church.
This property has three bedrooms (two doubles and one single). This property has a downstairs toilet and separate shower, kitchen/dining area, living room with TV and DVD player and an open fire. There is a separate bathroom and an outside utility room with separate washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a barbeque and patio furniture, allowing for al fresco dining.
SKY COTTAGE:
This is a delightful two bedroom cottage with central heating as well as an open fire situated in the Living room. The property also has a separate shower room and a dining area.. The views from this cottage are superb.
It is in an elegant part of the island with commanding views over Fairhead and Church Bay. Situated further inland than other properties in the portfolio, it is perfectly placed for a retreat. The large garden also allows for a barbeque, with patio furniture included.
